Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp white granulated sugar
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 6 tbsp brown butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast by combining warm water and sugar in a bowl; sprinkle yeast over top and let sit until foamy (about 10-15 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk bread flour and salt. Add activated yeast mixture and olive oil; mix until sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover with a damp towel and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
  4. Grease a baking pan, pour melted butter in the center, then gently fold dough into the pan after deflating it.
  5. Let rise again for about 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Dimple the dough with wet fingers and drizzle with brown butter mixed with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before icing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
