  • 1 1/2 cups room temperature unsalted butter
  • Zest from 3 additional blood oranges
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup blood orange juice (for frosting)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate (for ganache)
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven. In a large bowl, mix water, sugar, olive oil, blood orange juice, and zest.
  2. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Gradually combine dry ingredients into wet mixture; stir gently until just combined.
