  • 6 Ounces mozzarella pearls (fresh)
  • 12 Ounces cherry tomatoes
  • 1 baguette (demi)
  • ½ Cup basil pesto
  • Gel food coloring (black)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil
  • Balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place mozzarella pearls in a silicone skull mold and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted but not browned.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F.
  4. Halve cherry tomatoes, place them cut-side down on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; roast for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Slice baguette into half-inch pieces; toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Mix basil pesto with black gel food coloring until desired hue is achieved.
  7. Spread black pesto on toasted baguette slices, top with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
