Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce
  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta uncooked
  • 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese for layering
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt for pasta water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Pasta
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Mix the Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rigatoni, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the pasta is evenly coated.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
Bake
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your baked rigatoni!
