Brownie Layer
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
Cheesecake Layer
  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Brownie Layer
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the red food coloring until the batter is evenly colored.
Prepare the Cheesecake Layer
  1. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and well combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie layer.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
