Method
- Start by cutting the apples into uniform pieces, about ½ to 1-inch cubes.
- Place the chopped apples into a skillet with 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter (or coconut oil) to the skillet and stir until all apple pieces are coated. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add maple syrup, ground cinnamon, fine sea salt, and pure vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Cook for another 5 minutes while stirring frequently until desired softness is reached.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
