Gordon Ramsay Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or ½ lb ground Italian sausage + ½ lb ground beef
  • to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves optional
  • to serve spaghetti noodles

Method
 

  1. Start by heating a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef along with the chopped onion. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce and tomato paste along with Italian seasoning, dried parsley flakes, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.
  3. Pour in the water and bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for approximately 20 minutes.
  4. If using fresh basil leaves, stir them in now.
  5. Serve the sauce generously over cooked spaghetti noodles.
