Ingredients
  

Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup bread crumbs preferably whole wheat
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped
Mint Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 pinch salt
Pitas and Garnishes
  • 4 pieces pita bread halved
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 medium cucumber sliced

Method
 

Prepare Meatballs
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  3. Mix until well combined, then form into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
Make Mint Yogurt Sauce
  1. In a bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
Assemble Pitas
  1. Warm the pita bread in a skillet or oven.
  2. Stuff each pita half with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cucumber slices, and baked meatballs.
  3. Drizzle with mint yogurt sauce before serving.
