Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups rolled oats old-fashioned
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk or almond milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fruits
  • 2 cups apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins optional
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup walnuts chopped, optional
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar for sprinkling on top

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Dish
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Add Fruits
  1. Fold in the chopped apples and raisins (if using).
Bake
  1. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with walnuts and brown sugar on top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Serve
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
