Method
Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, softened butter, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth.
Add Egg and Vanilla
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and mix until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Mixtures
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add Chocolate Chips
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Scoop and Bake
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool and Serve
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
