Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Lean or extra-lean preferred
  • 1 cup Onion Chopped
  • 1 cup Frozen Mixed Vegetables Optional
Sauce
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup Milk Whole or low-fat
Topping
  • 1 bag Tater Tots 32 oz
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese For topping

Method
 

Prepare the Beef Mixture
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined. If using, add the frozen mixed vegetables and mix well.
Assemble the Casserole
  1. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish.
  2. Arrange the tater tots on top of the beef mixture in a single layer.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
  1. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
